Tribeca Tavern

Tribeca Tavern in Cary

Casual elegance. That is not what you usually associate with the word “tavern” but that is exactly what you get from Tribeca Tavern in Cary.  Snuggled into a prime location in Stone Creek Villiage at the intersection of High House Road and Davis Drive, the two story round facade lets you know immediately that this isn’t going to be just another dive bar style tavern experience with a few burgers, some wings and maybe a pizza. Tribecca Tavern is more in line with a gastropub experience with a more diverse menu than you might expect.

The dining room decor is warm and inviting and TVs throughout the dining room allow you to catch the game without having to sit in the bar area (but thats ok too if you want). Outdoor dining is also available when the weather is good.

Local Brews

Tribeca Tavern is serving Mash House Brewing Company Beers from Fayetteville, NC and flights are available for tasting! They also have 10 guest taps that all feature NC beers from around the state. If you somehow get past those choices without finding something you like, then traditional bottles are available. Pro Tip for non-alcohol drinkers: Mash House also brews its own root beer! Its phenomenal.

The Eats

Tribeca Tavern Salmon

Tribeca Tavern Salmon

Tribeca may be best known for any of its signature “team burgers” named for NC  sports teams. I’m sorry but my favorite is the Pirate, which is a very traditional eastern NC blend of hoop cheddar cheese, chili, bacon, BBQ sauce, cole slaw, some veggies you probably are gonna leave on the side anyway, and a brioche bun. My goodness.

My wife on the other hand went for the aptly named Tarheel burger. Lets just say it has brie and caramelized onions on it.

I could talk about the burgers all day but if I did, I would be doing a disservice to the rest of the menu with things to try such as the bison meat loaf, which was the first meatloaf I had ever seen finished off on the grill. Nice detail there. Other favorites included the pan seared salmon and shrimp and grits. Also, not to worry, vegetarian options are also available.

Final Word

In a town with ever expanding options on where to spend your money, Tribeca Tavern continues to be a go to option, great for casual date night, out with the family, or entertaining guests from out of town.
